Overview

The Manchester and Trafford Community Diagnostic Centre (MTCDC) at Withington Community Hospital gives patients faster, more convenient access to vital diagnostic tests, in an area where many communities traditionally suffered poor health outcomes.

The new centre, completed by BAM in June 2026, is transforming service delivery, Instead of multiple appointments in different locations, patients can have a range of diagnostic test and assessments in a single visit.

Our Role

Engaged by Cadgrange Joinery to deliver the doorset package for its contract with BAM, drawing on our extensive experience in the healthcare sector.

We specified doorsets that met stringent infection-control and hygiene requirements, enhanced fire-safety regulations, and the high-impact durability demands of busy clinical environments.

The Challenge

The new-build installation was managed through just-in-time deliveries. We coordinated phased deliveries to Cadgrange’s Liverpool headquarters, ensuring the team received precisely the doorsets needed for each installation phase in Manchester.

Our Solution

We developed a compliant healthcare doorset package designed to meet the project’s performance and operational needs, including:

53 assured fire-certified doorsets ranging from NFR, FD30 and FD60 using GE Doors own Field Of Application
Durable finishes suitable for heavy clinical use, including half height PVC protection fitted both sides of the doors for additional protection from the trolleys.
Softwood Primed Frame and Architrave.
Laminate colour on doors: Formica F1079 Natural Oak and Formica F7902
10 doors with Vistamatic blinds fitted to allow privacy between the rooms.
Carefully selected ironmongery for reliability and infection-sensitive environments
Accessibility-compliant configuration
Coordinated delivery aligned with phased construction sequencing

By working closely with Cadgrange Joinery, we ensured that doorsets arrived at its Liverpool headquarters in line with its just-in-time delivery schedule.
