Prince Charles Hospital has been a vital healthcare facility serving Merthyr Tydfil and the wider South Wales region since 1978. A major phased redevelopment programme was commissioned to modernise the estate, enhance patient care, and future-proof clinical services – all while maintaining live hospital operations.

The programme combines refurbishment, retrofit and new build elements, significantly improving patient experience, clinical efficiency and environmental performance.

We supplied over 1050 doorsets complete with Ironmongery

GE Door Manufacturing partnered with Tilbury Douglas to support the specification, manufacture and supply of compliant fire doorsets and ironmongery solutions across the redevelopment works.

Early engagement with the contractor and design team allowed us to:

Contribute to compliant doorset and ironmongery specification
Align fire strategy requirements with operational constraints
Provide robust, healthcare-appropriate solutions for high-traffic clinical environments
Support phased installation within a live hospital setting
